Gandhi, born October 2, 1869, was the pre-eminent political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement. Today I was surfing the internet, and ran into something interesting he said. Seven Blunders of the World |

Back In 1992 some people had an idea how things would come out when the IP lawyers, and media companies got together. This comes from Computer World, and can be found here. "If nature has made any one thing less susceptible than all others of exclusive property, it is the action of the thinking power called an idea, which an individual may exclusively possess as long as he keeps it to himself; but the moment it is divulged, it forces itself into the possession of everyone, and the receiver cannot dispossess himself of it. Its peculiar character, too, is that no one possesses the less, because every other possesses the whole of it. He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. That ideas should freely spread from one to another over the globe, for the moral and mutual instruction of man, and improvement of his condition, seems to have been peculiarly and benevolently designed by nature, when she made them, like fire, expansible over all space, without lessening their density at any point, and like the air in which we breathe, move, and have our physical being, incapable of confinement or exclusive appropriation. Inventions then cannot, in nature, be a subject of property." --Thomas Jefferson |

Today the Indians made history!!! The Yankees gave up 14 runs to the Tribe in the second inning, which set a record for the most runs in any 2nd inning ever! The fact that the Yankees gave up 13 hits in that inning, was the most they have ever allowed to an opponent in an inning. And the Indians tied their own record of scoring 22 runs in New York. Fausto Carmona had a decent day. And now the Indians are 4 games under .500, and it's thankfully too early in the season for that to be too relavent. |

What can we say about the 2009 Season coming up? Well, it starts later than usual, and lasts later than usual. The season doesn't end until October 4. Whether the Indians will reach the postseason this year is anyone's guess. I don't have much information about the new season yet, aside from the schedule, but please check the Indians 2009 page for updates. Anyhow, GO TRIBE! |

I don't know where to begin with this game. On one hand, the Buckeyes played a good game against a team that could easily have been in the title game. They also did so with a team that really won't come into it's own till next year when you'll see Herron, and Pryor play all season, and these 2 will certainly put up big numbers. On the other hand, you have to notice that the play that lost the game for the Buckeyes, was yet another zone blitz, where the defense got torched because they let the play get behind them, and then couldn't catch up. Whichever it was, this season was yet another BCS loss for our team, and we await better days. Hopefully next season the Buckeyes can deliver another national title to one of the best teams in college football, year in, and year out. Go Buckeyes!!! |

Majel Barrett Roddenberry was wife to Gene Roddenberry, and had been in nearly every single episode of any Star Trek series. She had been on TV somehow for over 40 years, not many can say that. I'm going to miss her, she was a great actress, and fun to watch, particularly as Lwaxana Troi on Star Trek:The Next Generation (1987-1994), and Star Trek:Deep Space Nine (1993-1999). She has commonly been referred to as "The First Lady of Star Trek." Gene Roddenberry died October 24, 1991. Following his death, she used his left material to develop 2 different Canadian series, Earth:Final Conflict (1997-2002), and Andromeda (2000-2005). She served as exectutive producer for both shows until 2002, Gene Roddenberry was credited as the creator. |

Jim Tressel is now 7-1 against Michigan, something noone could have in their wildest dreams predicted in 2001. For the first time in history we beat Michigan 5 years running, and the last time Michigan beat OSU five years running was 1923-1927. For the first time in 7 decades OSU tied a loss on a first year Michigan coach. Laurinaitis looked great, Pryor had a decent game, both Wells' did well. It was just really something else to see, despite the fact that Michigan didn't field a very good team this year. For the first time since 1968 OSU beat Michigan BIG. Four decades, that's insane! |

Highland fell to Sylvania Southview, 28-21, Hoover blanked GlenOak, 14-0, Louisville lost to Columbus St. Francis-DeSales, 38-21, Hoban beat Tallmadge, 17-14, and finally Aurora stomped Walsh Jesuit, 28-7. The only remaining area teams in the playoffs are now Hoover, and Hoban. You can follow the local teams here, or the Regional Finals, and State Semifinals. |

Pryor showed today that he has fully taken the reigns of the Buckeyes team, and the Buckeyes never had much doubt in this one. Beating Illinois, in Illinois. At the same time, Michigan managed a feat they have never done, in their 129 year history, and that is losing 8 games in 1 season. Next week we hope to hand them their 9th loss, and make history in the process. The last time either Michigan, or Ohio State beat the other for 5 consecutive years running, was 1922-1927, when Michigan beat the Buckeyes 5 years straight. Either way, the real season will be here next week. The Buckeyes are still able to clinch a share of the Big Ten title by winning next week. |
