Jim Tressel is now 7-1 against Michigan, something noone could have in their wildest dreams predicted in 2001. For the first time in history we beat Michigan 5 years running, and the last time Michigan beat OSU five years running was 1923-1927. For the first time in 7 decades OSU tied a loss on a first year Michigan coach. Laurinaitis looked great, Pryor had a decent game, both Wells' did well. It was just really something else to see, despite the fact that Michigan didn't field a very good team this year. For the first time since 1968 OSU beat Michigan BIG. Four decades, that's insane! |

Highland fell to Sylvania Southview, 28-21, Hoover blanked GlenOak, 14-0, Louisville lost to Columbus St. Francis-DeSales, 38-21, Hoban beat Tallmadge, 17-14, and finally Aurora stomped Walsh Jesuit, 28-7. The only remaining area teams in the playoffs are now Hoover, and Hoban. You can follow the local teams here, or the Regional Finals, and State Semifinals. |

Pryor showed today that he has fully taken the reigns of the Buckeyes team, and the Buckeyes never had much doubt in this one. Beating Illinois, in Illinois. At the same time, Michigan managed a feat they have never done, in their 129 year history, and that is losing 8 games in 1 season. Next week we hope to hand them their 9th loss, and make history in the process. The last time either Michigan, or Ohio State beat the other for 5 consecutive years running, was 1922-1927, when Michigan beat the Buckeyes 5 years straight. Either way, the real season will be here next week. The Buckeyes are still able to clinch a share of the Big Ten title by winning next week. |

Hoover beat Twinsburg, 13-10, GlenOak beat Brunswick, 28-3, Tallmadge beat Madison, 27-7, Highland beat Olentangy Liberty, 35-0, Louisville beat Logan, 7-0, Walsh Jesuit beat Chagrin Falls, 21-17, Dover beat Canton South, 35-14, Tuslaw fell to Lake Perry, 47-0, Bascom Hopewell-Loudon beat Mogadore, 30-0, and the victors advance to the Regional Finals. Good luck to whatever team may be your favorite. You can see the results here for the local teams, and all of the teams in the state here. |

Next year could hold big things for the Buckeyes, as this offense looks unstoppable when they're clicking. With 2 more games left in the regular season, the Michigan game looms. If OSU can manage to win that game it'll be the first time in the modern era when one of the two beat the other 5 straight years. Tressel has only lost a handful of games in the past 4 years, but the title games are the ones that always stick out. Hopefully we can right that next season. This season we are looking for a piece of the Big Ten title. |

The Democrats ran the table Tuesday, in an electoral land slide. They picked up lots of seats in both houses of Congress. Frankly, I prefer to have the White House one party, and Congress the opposite party. Either way, let's hope for positive change for the next 4 years, and not just "change". |

Tonight OSU fumbled the ball, and threw interceptions to give Penn St. the victory, and I believe mismanaged the clock. Either way, this is loss #2 on the season, and so we look forward to next season. I think Pryor will be a star soon enough, but tonight he wasn't able to throw anything long, and more or less didn't. The 3rd quarter brought the problems on, and the Buckeyes did nothing to solve them in the 4th quarter. Anyhow, next week we play Northwestern. |
|
Dalton beat Chippewa 34-19, Waynedale shutout Northwestern 35-0, Norwayne throttled Smithville 36-10, Orrville hammered Wooster 31-0, Hillsdale beat Rittman 41-13, and Triway manhandled Timken 57-0. Soon I'll be posting playoff matchups, so stay tuned, however this weeks scores can be found by clicking here. |

The Pryor-Wells show continued again today, after a break last week, and OSU easily outplayed Michigan St. today. Next week comes one of our BIG games, playing Penn. St. All of the ESPN "analysts" are calling for a Penn St. victory, however I think it's quite likely OSU will handle Penn St. Hard to say, sometimes we do very well against Penn St, sometimes not so well. Either way, a week from now we get to find out. |

In other Wayne County high school football action... Waynedale hammered Chippewa 53-13, Dalton shocked Norwayne 19-0, Northwestern fell to Hillsdale 54-27, Orrville beat Mansfield Madison 41-7, Smithville stuffed Rittman 50-17, and Triway surprised unbeaten Tuslaw 13-7. Check out all of the high school football action in Ashland, Medina, Stark, Summit, and Wayne counties by clicking here. |

OSU had a horrible day offensively, however good defense, and special teams gave the Buckeyes a strong victory. The offense didn't score a touchdown today, and I feel that's bad for this year. However, OSU should be expected to need to reload every few years. Either way, there it is. |
|
OSU served notice tonight, that they WILL be a power to be reckoned with on the national stage, again. With Pryor, and Wells heading a 2-headed backfield, tonight OSU beat Wisconsin, in Camp Randall. Terell Pryor ran in a touchdown with 1:08 left, to give the Buckeyes the win, and I believe if Boeckman had been the QB, we wouldn't have won. Either way, this should give us a bit of a boost in the polls. I feel we may be able to run the remainder of the schedule, but it won't be easy, as we face Penn St, who looks like the toughest team in the Big Ten. |
